My Inventory and Reading List Proposal
After taking a look at my reading inventory I have realized I have been reading the same types of books my entire life. I mainly always go for the romance or adventure type of books. I seem to always want to read something I am comfortable with and know I will like.
A few books I enjoyed are: The Last Song This was one of the first books I’ve read by Nicholas Sparks. I read this book in middle school and fell in love. I just fell in love with the characters and the whole story. I loved how the story developed and everything connected perfectly at the end. Of course, there were many tears involved with reading this book. Once I started reading I couldn’t seem to put it down. Overall, it’s a great book. Kind of depressing, but it has a happy ending. I watched the movie and loved it just as much as the book itself. The Hunger Games The Hunger Games really opened up a whole new world of reading for me. This was another instance where I could barley book the book down. After the first few pages I was completely hooked. It is a very dramatic life or death plot, is incredibly compelling. It is entertaining, and disturbing all at once. As for my proposal I am reading books that are different than anything I have read before. I want to push myself to read books I would have never read on my own. I chose a variety of books I believe will really push me to my limits and become a better reader. My Reading List Proposal:
Tom Robbin's skinny legs & all: I want to read this book because it was recommended by my professor. From the summary I could tell I have never read a book like it before. I really want to expand my reading genres so I want to give this book a try. Tender Is The Night Scott Fitzgerald: A main reason why I chose this book was because I have heard so much about Scott Fitzgerald, but I have never read his work before.
